Against the Odds, a web mini-series
Against the Odds is a character based dramedy about a struggling comic book artist who discovers a bar that serves as a haven for supernatural creatures who want to avoid humans – they gradually teach each other what it means to be human... against the odds.

Last year I was fortunate enough to attend Chicago Comic-Con and upon returning home I had so much positive energy and felt a creative surge from being surrounded by so many like-minded individuals. This put the idea for Against the Odds in my head. I have spent a long time in theater and doing a few local films (alongside several involved in this production) and I decided I wanted to delve into my geeky roots and create something I felt was important. To make something that will last a lifetime and about which everyone invlolved can be proud. I pitched the rough concept to local novelist Paul-Thomas Ferguson and was extremely fortunate that he saw all the same potential and lent the show his talent. Together we developed the idea into what it is now and after being one episode into the series as I write this, I'm already proud of what we have accomplished!
What we are showing here is the first episode (in parts) of our seven episode long mini series exploring these characters and the lives they lead. We are blessed to have wonderful talent on and off the camera putting in hard work and long hours to make this dream come true. What we need from you is some financial help. So much goes into making a show, from props, lights, sets, pre-production costs, post, and feeding hungry cast and crew! We've done our best to budget per episode and $1500 should afford us the ability to produce the entirety of our series without putting a financial strain on anyone involved.
In order for you to see what you're contributing to we will be sharing the completed Episode 1 of Against the Odds in parts over the course of our fundraising! As the show is produced every episodes will be released to watch for free on YouTube and upon completion of the entire series it will also be available for purchase on DVD.
