Save Sophie (...again)

It's with a heavy heart that I write on this website once again to ask for help. Sophie, my 9-year-old English Springer Spaniel, is my one & only happiness. It's been almost 3 years since she rescued me, and it's only been 6 months since we celebrated her being cancer-free... until now.

The Grade I tumor that almost took her leg last December has re-grown in a matter of weeks. The tumor, identified as a nerve-sheath tumor called a Sarcoma, has become even more agressive. It has grown double the size in half the time as the first, stretching her stitched up skin to a painful shade of pink. She has been limping and unable to sleep or eat. I notice her anxiety and can't let her suffer any longer. 

Upon taking her to the animal hospital I was told that she is in danger of losing her leg because the Sarcoma went from Grade I to Grade II, and might even spread. I am afraid for her and I just want her to live out her years in comfort and bliss. My family and I have made the decision to amputate her leg, therefore hopefully removing the cancer and sparing her any more pain and possible months of radiation and chemotherapy. It is not a decision we made lightly.

This surgery might possibly save an animal who has done nothing but love and cherish me unconditionally, and has entrusted me with the whole of her life. I have a responsibility to my pup to ensure her the best impression of earth when its her time to leave this world. Yet again, give our little lumpy puppy the chance to live. Save Sophie!
