Kenton RoadRUNNERS

HI ALL!

I am a second grade teacher at Kenton Elementary in Aurora, Colorado.  Myself along with four other staff members are looking to begin an after school running club for approximately 16 girls at our school this coming fall.  Kenton Elementary serves over 500 students in ages PreK through 5th grade.  Roughly 85% of our students qualify for free and reduced lunch which is determined based upon students' families' socioeconomic status.

Currently our school has limited after school opportunities in which our students can participate.  We want to provide additional opportunities for our students after school by starting a running club, The Kenton RoadRUNNERS. This running club will practice for approximately 8 weeks and will culminate with a 5K run in Denver. Through this program, the girls will work towards the goal of completing a 5K while building confidence and self-esteem, along with learning healthy lifestyle habits.

Starting this running club cannot happen without your help!  We are looking for donations to help support the club and offset participation costs for our girls.

With the donations, we will be able to pay the participation cost for the girls to run a 5K. We will also be providing a healthy snack after school. The girls will earn motivational prizes throughout the 8 weeks. Your donations will help to provide the girls with new running shoes, water bottles, t-shirts, and different motivational prizes.

Any donation large or small would be greatly appreciated and not go unnoticed!
