USB SAE Aerodesign 2017

Welcome, 


We are a group of students from the Simón Bolívar University, Sede Litoral, located in Vargas, Venezuela. We are part of the Aeronautical Technology Students’ Association (A.T.S.A), and we represent the AeroDesign SAE USB Micro Team. All the members of our technical and logistic work team are outstanding future professionals with skills and knowledge necessary to complement all the areas that are executed in the association.

Our main goal is to represent our university and our country in SAE Aerodesign Brazil 2017, a prestigious competition organized by SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) which is held annually in Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil. Teams representing universities from all over the continent participate with the mission of designing and building a radio-controlled scale aircraft capable of carrying the highest load possible. This aircraft will be challenged and evaluated in different categories of the competition.

This time, the university will participate in two categories: Micro (aircraft with electric motors) and Regular (aircraft with combustion engines), and the competition will take place in the city of Sao Jose Dos Campos, Brazil, in October of 2017.

During our brief journey as participants we can proudly mention the following achievements:

* First team in the Micro Category to represent the Simón Bolívar University and Venezuela.

* Top Competition Plans

* Best assembly time, 42 seconds. (2014)

* Overall rating: ranked 23

* The opening of an exclusive subject for both Aerodesign teams.



In 2016, we had many difficulties, where only five of the ten team members actually traveled and participated in the event, since the rest did not have the resources to pay their expenses, this same obstacle prevented our classification in previous years. That is why we need your help to make our dream come true. This experience is a unique opportunity that contributes to the training of future professionals in the aeronautics area.

This year, our objective is to create a more efficient prototype with the purpose of excel in the Aerodesign competition and proudly lift high the name of our university and our country.

The expenses we require are:
 *The materials for the elaboration of the airplane.
*Lodging
* Airfares from Venezuela-Brazil, Brazil-Venezuela
* Internal transfer for the localities of the competition.

This project has an estimated budget of USD 3,000 so we rely on the GoFundMe organization for its collaboration through donations to get a total of 1000 USD.
