Khaled Al-Qazzaz was illegally detained in Egypt’s notorious Scorpion cell of Torah prison for 558 days. Though he was finally released in January 2015, the family continues to struggle today.
The family is now reunited in Egypt but unfortunately, when the family attempted to journey back to Canada on April 16, 2015, Khaled, Sarah and their 4 children were held by Cairo Airport Security for over 7 hours only to have their money for Khaled’s urgently needed medical treatment confiscated and denied travel with no explanation.
Abdelrahman, Sarah and Khaleds eldest son, always looks forward to summer camp as its the highlight of his year. This summer, he will not be able to attend due to the family not being able to return to Canada. For that reason, Abdelrahman is raising $300 to sponsor a child to go to camp! The University of Toronto offers numerous weekly athletic and academic based camps for kids of Abdelrahmans age.
