ABC Men Inc.'s Van Fundraiser

Able Body Christian Men Incorporated (ABC Men Inc), a 501(c)(3) organization based in Southwest Philadelphia, is a service-oriented nonprofit that has been giving back to the community for several years. ABC Men Inc. consist of committed men and women living in and around the Philadelphia area. We are well-known throughout the city for our numerous charitable initiatives(program), including youth mentoring services, support of the elderly and disabled, running a food pantry for our community, and our Adopt-a-family where we purchase Christmas/holiday gifts for children and families in need. In particular, we are known for our free snow removal during the winter months. We provide shoveling services, free of charge, to seniors and disabled citizens who could not otherwise safely remove the snow from their driveways, sidewalks and cars.

We often receive requests from those in need, who are located in various areas of Philadelphia and surrounding counties. We use volunteers vehicles for transportation, often traveling long distances to provide our shoveling service to those in need. During Fall & Winter, we recruit volunteers to help shovel, as it is often physically taxing and time-consuming. This year, we have made it our goal to fundraise for our overall mission with emphasis on a new 15-passenger van that will allow us to shuttle more volunteers, load snow equipment, and more easily access the various areas in and around Philadelphia where we provide snow removal.

Adding this van to our organization will allow us to further expand our overall community service and be more connected with the community. We are passionate about service and hope to increase our capability of continuing our charitable efforts. Our snow removal efforts have gone as far as Boston, Massachusetts where we received and fulfilled a request from a senior resident during their 2015 Winter snow emergency. We are always willing to help those in need – even at great distances.Your contribution could be the financial push we need to reach our ultimate serving potential.
