First, a little about me. Writing has always been my passion, and even from a young age, I always wanted to become a published author. I have studied numberous literary works, read countless books and have been working on several novels over the past few years.
One of the things that sets me aside for other authors is my passion for writing a literary masterpiece that will not only captivate the readers attention, leading them to want more, but also cause the reader to truly feel emotions while they are reading. Part of the reason we love horror movies, or romance movies, is because the visual effects stimulate our responses. Most books now adays fail to truly captivate the readers attention and draw them in so deep, they feel those emotions as if they were there.
Tolkien, amongst countless other authors, is one of my largest influences to writing fiction like this. I sought after a writing style similar to his, although I made some major modifications. One of many peoples complaints about Tolkien's work was how OVERLY descriptive he was in many aspects. He had a fantastic writing style, and truly created a whole new world for people to enjoy, but it was often very dry during parts of it, for example going through many pages of how one person is related in their family line.
My writing style is similar in the aspects of how detailed and beautiful of a world, one that truly captivates the reader, while remaining consistantly interesting. That, mixed with the ability to cause the reader to feel emotions, is what sets me aside from everyday authors that just seek to hold your attention.
The Shadowlance Trilogy is a three part book series that follows a group of friends, and some unexpected companions they meet along the way in the journey to stop a dark wizard from overtaking the lands they live in.
In part one of the trilogy, you will not only discover the wonderful imagery and indepth character development, you will aslo learn much about what HAS taken place, and yern to discover what is to come.
The Protaganist, Tothran, an fierce warrior from many years prior, and his group of companions set out on an endover to track down clues regarding the return of the Antaganist, along the way friendships are made, and lives are lost in what will become the most dangerous and important events to ever take place in the beautiful world of Gundock.
While the first part of this project is already well underway (book 1), the funding that you help provide will enable me to advertise the book to numberous media outlets across the nation and online, allow me to better edit the book through the help of literary agents, fund my self-published copy, and even allow me to work with the major, traditional publishing agencies for mass production.
Along side the financial benefit of your gracious contribution, the overall interest that will be shown by the donations will peak the interest of major publishing agents nation wide, allowing this dream to become a reality.
Whether you donate $5, $10, $100, $500 or even $1000, and everything in between, the money will be spent on taking a dream and image, and creating a wonderful book that many people will enjoy, with the promise of many more books to come in the future.
