I'm updating this GoFundMe to say thank you to everyone who helped me and my family when things were at their worst. We've gotten most things straightened out and I have a part time job that I really love.
So I'm changing this GoFundMe and using it to raise funds for my brother and his three kids. Last June my sister-in-law passed away unexpectedly. At the time she was separated from my brother and because of the circumstances involved the kids were taken into protective custody. My family and my sister-in-laws family have both been fighting to get the kids back home where they belong, with their father. He finally has the two youngest living with him, but the house they have to live in is very, very old and is need of a new electrical box and wiring. Also, he is trying to get the utilities bills (gas and electric) straightened out. But there are past due amounts that need to be paid as well.
My hope is to rasie enough money for the repairs, which have been estimated to be about $1500, and for past due amounts that are around $1500. We're looking into government grants or programs to assist with this, but it's an urgent problem that needs to be fixed soon. Unfortunately, my mother and I are doing better financially, but we can't afford to pay for any of these things for my brother.
Things are slowly getting better for him and the kids and I have to say I'm very proud of the way he has turned his life around to be able to be a father again. He just needs this little bit of help to set things back on the right path.
