Hi,

My name is Wolf Samuel. I’m 25 and living in Denver. I work in a locally-owned restaurant, and do graphic design & photo-illustration work for local artists, musicians and small businesses on a freelance/for-trade basis, in an effort to pursue my creative passions, and support the amazing community around me.

On Friday, March 20th, I was biking home from the restaurant I work at, and decided to take a route I don’t normally take, just for a change of scenery. Coming down Broadway Street, I hit an unexpected single railroad line the wrong way (still around from old-timey Denver, at Speer & Broadway for local folks, watch out!) that flung me right over the front of my bike. I landed face-first, breaking my nose, cracking open my chin, fracturing my jaw, and breaking/ejecting several of my upper-front teeth.


Luckily, I wrecked only a few short blocks from a hospital, and was able to rush myself over for emergency treatment. Seven hours, six stitches, four shots, and many x-rays later, I met with a dental specialist to discuss options.

I will need one root canal (tooth #7), three temporary crowns (7,9,10), jaw grafting (8), a temporary flipper (8), and after many months to a year of healing, three permanent crowns (7,9,10) and one full bone implant (8), as well as multiple potential root canals on surrounding teeth, given the possibility of abscess associated with trauma.

As dental treatment takes a lot of time for procedure and recovery, I will be out of work for what may be several weeks. As dental and emergency room treatments also cost a lot of money, and I do not have health or dental insurance, I am quickly accumulating outrageous debts with no income to stand a fighting chance against.

Any aid is immensely helpful right now, and received with infinite gratitude. Thank you so much for reading this and having my recovery in your thoughts, if only for this moment.
