Thanks to your generous donations, I...
Thanks to your generous donations, I met 100% of my fund-raising goal for this organic-fueled marathon campaign. I'm so moved and motivated by all of your contributions, and can't thank you enough—except, hopefully, by showing this 26.2-mile race who's boss!
Though I've reached my $500 goal (with $2 to spare!), donations are still accepted and deeply appreciated: Organic agriculture, soil health, sustainability, and farm support are incredibly important—not just to me, but to all of us, whether we know it or not.
If you would still like to make a pledge toward supporting the fantastic organization and advocacy group NOFA-NY, it might inspire me to run that much faster next Sunday!

Corn! Kale! Apples! Beets! Coffee! Grapes!...
Corn! Kale! Apples! Beets! Coffee! Grapes! Sweet potatoes! Onions! Tomatoes! Blueberries! These are some of the things that are fueling my marathon training, and just a few of the very good reasons I'm running 26.2 miles in the first place.
Organic agriculture protects our soil, nourishes our bodies, and lets running-crazy bozos like me keep our fleet feet moving.
If you're able to help me raise money and awareness for the importance of clean, healthy soil, I won't be the only one to appreciate it: The planet will thank you, too. (The difference is that she'll repay you in delicious fruit and veg; all I can do is promise not to force you to look at race photos of me in my tiny shorts.)

All of your continued support fueled...

On September 30, I'll be running in my first-ever marathon, in beautiful coastal Maine.
As it turns out, running 26.2 miles is actually kind of hard work (whoops!), and it requires that I take particular care of myself in mind, body, and spirit. During my longer training runs, I've gotten a chance to really think about what it means to live in a healthy body, and what "health" means in the greater sense.
To me, health means a commitment to sustainability and growth. It also means giving back as much as I take, and it helping others do the same.
One of the most important ways I think we can give back to each other as well as to the planet we live on is to support the spread of organic, sustainable agriculture on a local, national, and global level.
Healthy bodies need healthy food, and healthy food needs healthy soil. Will you help me raise money to keep our soil healthy?
The Northeast Organic Farming Association of New York is an organization committed to helping growers learn the benefits of and strategies toward transitioning to organic farming.
Let's get healthy together, friends. (But don't worry: I'll do all the running.)
