My name is  Diego Rose Cardon and I am  21 years old from the Seychelles Islands out in the Indian Ocean. I have been a lover of the sea since day one whether it is surfing, bodyboarding, diving, water skiing or anything to do with the sea I'm out there doing it. For some years now Mono Water Skiing has been my passion and I have been doing it daily ever since. My mother fell ill last year with a terrible cancer and if we hadn't left Seychelles using our own funds she would have lost her life. The Cancer health care here in Seychelles is lacking a large amount of the resources needed to heal cancer patients. This is why the government sends all cancer patients abroad, meaning away from their families. I find this extremely hard as having your family near you is the best support a cancer patient can get. So a few months back whiles out on my ski I told myself that it is time to do something to help all the people of Seychelles because unfortunately each and everyone of us may fall victim to this horrible disease. I am training daily whether at sea on my skii or in the gym to insure my best physical state for the event. The event I will be doing is Mono Water Skiing from my Island called Praslin to the main island of Seychelles called Mahe, the distance of approximately 50km and I will be crossing that continuously in March 2018. My aim is to collect enough funds to purchase the medications,machines and other cancer healing equipment to allow the people of Seychelles to receive their cancer treatments here in our beautiful country without having to travel thousands of kilometers to a foreign country.
