Jessica Waldstein lives in Minot, North Dakota. On Friday, June 24, 2011, Jessica's house was overtaken by the rising water of the Souris River. Most of their home is currently underwater and could stay that way for well over a week until the river recedes.

Like many of the residents in this town, Jessica's family does not have flood insurance. This flood was not something anyone there could have possibly imagined. Because the area has been declared a disaster, the Waldsteins are hoping for some disaster relief funds from FEMA, but the cost of fixing their home will far exceed what those funds can assist them with. The generosity of friends, family, and strangers will make a huge difference in their ability to pick up and move on from this disaster.
