August 12th: What a good day we had. I held her for 2 hours and she did so great. No more IVs or lines in other than the orange feeding tube and the oxygen. 2 lbs 6 oz and still growing. Happy birthday baby. 1 month old!!
24 days old 2 lbs 2.6 oz. She's doing so good. Even the Dr was surprised at how good things are going. She told me she's like a whole different baby. Eating 9 cc of milk every 3 hours. Lungs are good, off meds for the most part, no other problems other than the bleeding in the brain but that already went down from a 4 to a 3 last xray. and the neurosurgeon said everything looks good so far from the outside. another xray scheduled for wed. Thank you so much for all the prayers and good, positive, happy thoughts.
UPDATE from mother: Today was a good day. 17 days old. Chest tubes are out and doing good on the ventilator, no blood infection, spinal tap was negative, Off blood pressure meds, down on the pain meds. We're up to 2 lbs, she had her first real feeding tonight (even if it was only. 5 cc of breast milk). I got to change her diaper and... I got to hold her! Finally! Well it wasn't actually holding her, but I got to pick her up for a few seconds while I was helping the nurse weigh her and change her bedding. But it was still awesome. She's sooo tiny, like a little doll. I that girl.
UPDATE: July 18, 2013 from mother...6 days old and my little girl is doing a little bit better. Thank you so much for all the prayers and support. ♥
She's off the big oxygen ventilator, on a smaller one now but breathing regular air. Antibiotics are helping the blood infection. They're about to do a spinal tap. The Dr just came in and said she's doing much, much better.
From Valentina's Mother: thank you to everyone who has reached out to me, called me, texted me, messaged me, came to the hospital with me, donated money and have kept my family and i in your thoughts and prayers etc. i appreciate all of it. this is the absolute hardest thing i've ever had to deal with or experience in my life. i'm scared and i cry everyday and i feel so helpless because i don't know how to help her. all i can do is just sit there by her side, watching her every evening. i know the doctors are doing all they can for her and there have been small improvements. i'm thankful for that. but there is just so much more to come before i'm able to bring her home with me. thank you again everyone. ♥
We encourage you to share this page so it gets as many views as possible. We also thank you for your donations already made and all the prayers. You are truly angels. Even $1 helps. More pictures and updates soon :)
