Udy and the Beast

Udy is a beautiful, brave, 6-year-old princess who needs urgent help with medical expenses.  Diagnosed unexpectedly with brain cancer in August, she immediately underwent surgery in Corpus Christi. She has a fast-growing cancer, anaplastic ependymoma, stage 3.

Currently, Udy is pursuing treatment at M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Her loving parents, Ifiok and Mfon Ofong, are both employed  - Ifiok is a high school coach and teacher and Mfon is a registered nurse - and they have health insurance coverage for their family.  However, their insurance does not cover 100% of the treatment costs.  Additionally, the family will have travel expenses back and forth from Corpus Christi to Houston.



Udy loves pink, Barbie, soccer, volleyball and track.  She is in the first grade.  She loves dancing!  She also loves her little brother, Junior (Ifiok Jr.).



You helped us meet our first goal of raising $18,000 by midnight on Tuesday, September 30, 2014, the end of Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month!!!  Udy's first proton therapy treatment was on Thursday, October 2, 2014. She will be having 6-7 weeks of this treatment.
