Tys Ipad

Tyler is our most favorite 7 year old! He was born at 25 weeks and weighed 1 lb 11oz. He was diagnosed with Retinopathy of Prematurity that has left him legally blind. He uses an iPad for everything. He types, magnifies, plays and can be independent. Because he can't change the station on the TV remote, the iPad gives him complete control over what he wants to do to. He can even manipulate the internet!!! Recently, Ty's iPad was broken. We babied it along until the glass started falling out. We were as careful as we could be. His little brother dumped milk on it and it no longer has any picture on the screen. Insurance may pick up a portion, but we will have to appeal the first denial and the process will take several months. We have started the process on Friday after the incident happend. We have also looked at non profit agencies that sometimes provide things like iPads for special needs kids. However, he has to be in the hospital at the end of August for at least 3 days and none of the above avenues will be done in 3 weeks. So we are turning to others to help. Please help us restore our kiddo's independence and help us replace his iPad!
