TYLER'S FIGHT to beat TBI

My son Tyler Age 12 was in an ATV accident on 10/18/14 and sustained a severe traumatic brain injury all because he and a friend wanted to be good Samaritans and turn around to move a pipe out of the road so a car didn't wreck and someone get hurt bless their hearts.... Unfortunately Tyler was unconscious at the scene and life flighted the Pittsburgh children's hospital where he underwent major brain surgery he had his frontal bone removed to relieve pressure from his brain he was also put into a drug induced coma to keep him stable all within the first 24 hrs he remained in the coma until Christmas ...he spend a month and a half in the PICU ( pediatric icu)  he has had countless CT scans and MRI's he had a feeding tube in his stomach (removed before just before he came home) he was in extensive inpatient rehab until April 2015 While in rehab he had to return to the childrens hospital to go through another surgery to replace the bone he is under close watch by his team of Drs and will continue to be for years to come he continues outpatient therapy twice a week for physical occupational and speech therapies...Tyler fights very hard everyday he sets goals and meets them he fought very hard to come back to us outta the coma and won't let anything stop him now he is a true inspiration.... It takes 7 to 10 years to recover from Traumatic Brain Injury and an average of 3 million dollars in expenses to care for TBI patients Tyler hit 3 million before he ever came home... We still make several monthly trips to pittsburgh and any donation big or small would be wonderful and would help more than you can imagine thank you and God Bless
