Digby!'s Unexpected 2nd TPLO

Donation protected
Hi! My name is Digby! (The exclamation mark is actually a part of my name!)
I am a Newfoundland puppy that is just over 2 yrs old and weigh in at a hefty, and healthy, 153 lbs!

Let me tell you about the most annoying 12 weeks of my life:

Just over 12 weeks ago I had TPLO surgery on my left knee. I tore the ACL in it when I decided it was too hot outside and ran off to jump into a neighbor's pond. I limped around a bit after, but it was all good. Later though I spent a weekend at the kennel while Mom & Dad were away and did something bad. I don't remember what, but I know my knee was hurting a whole lot.

Mommy & Dad took me to see lots of vets (I like them because they give me treats, lots of treats!). They seem to get confused some times and think I'm a bear, or a pony. Trust me, I'm not. I check every day (I'm a boy too!).

Anyhow, after going to the special vet in Annapolis, I got surgery done. My parents scraped up the money and paid for it all, even all the extra x-rays and rehab I did afterwards. I just got back from the final xrays and my left leg has completely healed!

Yay!

But... during my recovery, and even though I was trying to take it easy and my parents wouldn't let me play a lot with anyone, I managed to hurt my other knee the same way. My parents noticed me limping some for the last week, and were hoping it was just from being tired and sore from rehab and stuff. Nope, If I am going to do something apparently I go all out! I am thinking I tweaked it a bit much when I went back to the dog park after so long away from it. I was healed and cleared to go to it though! I was even getting stronger in my left leg again! They even had the doggie pool setup!

Ok, so it is a little small for me. I think after all this I want to get a bigger pool for the park so that I can play with my friends in it!

So, why am I here doing this?

Well, when I was at the vet for the final checkup and learning my left knee was all good, and the vet said my right knee was now messed up I saw Dad get a worried look on his face. He said something about mortgage payments, bills and how could they afford to do another surgery like this before things got worse in my right leg.

I dunno what all that means, but he was sad, and so was Mommy when I got home. I know they will find a way to make me always feel good; I am their baby afterall. There are no other kids to distract them either, just me and them!

I know this all has to do with money, again, dunno what that is, but this seemed to be a place I could ask if people would be willing to help out my Mommy & Dad some to maybe let me help make them feel not so sad.

Now, I don't have much to offer, but I'll tell you what: I'll make some fun levels of help where I will send you things I can make or that I have around. Things like personalized signed thank you cards, or I can even sneak you some of my Mommy's famous Chocolate Chip cookies (I hear they are famous, and lots of people like them, but I can't have any to verify). I'll even make a level to let us go and buy a new larger pool and toys for the dog park so me and my friends can all play together! If you want to help and not get anything from me that's ok too. Just remember I will always love you with all my Newfie heart!

Thanks!
