Supporting John Roberge

Donation protected
Gold Star father, John Roberge, is always willing to lend a helping hand. Now, as he faces the challenge of overcoming cancer,  we have the opportunity to offer a helping hand to John and his family in return.

When his son, Jonathan Roberge, was killed serving in Iraq in 2009, John Roberge, his wife Pauline and children Meghan, Sarah and Andrew, made it their mission to ensure that all of Massachusetts’ fallen service members are never forgotten.

John Roberge built the Johnny Roberge Veterans Memorial Park as a labor of love in his memory. The park features a wall with photos of every fallen service member from Iraq and Afghanistan in honor of their service and sacrifice.

As an entrepreneur, a carpentry contractor, John built most of the park, often times, with his own two hands.

But, his his kindness and determination hasn’t stopped there. From honoring and supporting other Gold Star families, to recognizing a veteran in need of support and jumping at the chance to lend a helping hand to a friend, Roberge shows his commitment to helping others almost every day.

He also shows this commitment through volunteer work in his community, even from an early age. In high school, he built a castle in the city library for children to play on. When his children were young, he was President of the booster club and a Boy Scout Den leader.

Today, he volunteers as a carpentry advisory board member for Leominster Trade School.

Each year his family hosts a golf tournament in honor of Jonathan to raise funding for a trade school scholarship for an outstanding young individual, and for VET Togethers a local group supporting local veterans and families.

John Roberge was recently diagnosed with cancer and will be undergoing treatment in Boston in the coming months. As an entrepreneur,  being out of work will take a significant toll on his family.

To help ease that burden, the Leominster community is coming together to host a fundraiser for John on May 18.

For those that cannot attend, we are offering the opportunity to give a financial donation through this page.

John Roberge’s dear friend John Churcher is leading the fundraising campaign for John, including the upcoming fundraiser event May 18. He will give all donations to and will present them to the Roberge’s after the fundraiser and all funds are tallied. The Roberge family is aware that Churcher is collecting the donations.

If you would prefer to support by check, please note that the donation is for the Roberge family and send to John Churcher:
