A Message from the Principal…
I was very lucky to inherit a great school, and keeping it moving forward is a job I take very seriously. That being said, every day I struggle with our recess area. The sight of children playing gives us joy and I want that to continue, just not for every person who travels Route 18. It may be time to take another look at where our students play.
It’s not that I think our students are in any danger, in fact, I love looking through my window and seeing them having fun. They have been playing out front for over 50 years. I think it may be time, however, to take advantage of the great amount of property in the rear of the building.
I can use your help creating an exciting and safe environment for our students to play. My goal is to move everyone to the back of the building and include the following areas: the blacktop, soccer field, and the fenced in area directly behind the school (I have 4 year –old grandchildren and know they need a fence around them).
This past summer, HSA began cleaning up this area for our young ones, and we gave it a name - the Msgr. Behl Learning Garden. We also have fencing ordered to close in the back of the soccer field. Basketball Hoops will be included in our renovation. There is still some work to do that involves additional playground equipment and picnic tables for outside classes.
If you are able to help with this endeavor, all contributions to GoFundMe will be solely used for the relocation of our play area. No contribution is too small. If you would like to help supervise during lunch period, that would be great too! What is most important is our continued partnership in providing the best Catholic education possible for our students.
