Shimmy Mob, a worldwide "Flash Mob" type event, is the largest event of its kind.
The primary objective of Shimmy Mob is to raise funds and awareness for Domestic Violence shelters throughout the world. Additionally, the event brings awareness to the art of bellydance as every Shimmy Mob group performs the same choreography.
The Shimmy Mob performances occur throughout World Bellydance Day and serve to promote bellydance as well as local dance teachers and schools offering bellydance in the local participating areas.
The Lakeland Shimmy Mob raises funds to support Peace River Center Victim's Services.
