Thank you for taking the time to read Bailey's story.
While strolling along on our evening walk three weeks ago, Bailey was viciously attacked by another dog. The attacking dog backed out of his leash and collar and pounced upon her. At the time I thought he was trying to rip her head off. Now I relaize he was actually crushing her head between his jaws. Her injuries are severe and we are unsure at this point how the damages will affect her. Infection could set in, she may lose an eye, and she has stitches in her cheek, mouth, eye, nasal cavity and head. Consequently, the full financial impact is unknown at this time.
The people responsible for the out of control animal (the dog walker, dog sitter and owner) are reluctant to give us concrete information about the violent dog or themselves. One of the threesome stepped up with $1800 but Bailey's expenses exceeded that amount within a couple of days. What's more, this "stand up guy" has since threatened to dispute the charges by claiming identity theft/fraudulent charges. We've got a long road ahead us.
We will first use your generously donated funds towards Bailey's medical care. All unused funds will be used to offset our legal costs as we pursue the attacking dog and his handlers. These people are eluding their responsibility and we want them held accountable.
We will provide updates on Bailey's condition and pray none of you will ever bear witness to a traumatic event such as this.
