Buy space heaters for St Joe

So the original fundraiser I did on Facebook was a massive success so I decided to do it again! In the Facebook campaign I made my initial goal 10 space heaters and the campaign not only funded completely but it tripled the goal! Huge thanks to Ellen Leinwetter of KQ2 for covering this cause and for everyone who donated previously! Because of your generosity I have been able to donate 27 space heaters to AFL-CIO and I want to keep going! I am setting my goal at the same $108 to buy 10 more, maybe we can triple it again? This cause is not just about people's comfort, if a person does not have a furnace to heat their home it can become deadly in a matter of hours. Last winter we saw windchills of -25F and if a home does not have adequete heat the dangers of hypothermia and frostbite become very real, even in doors. On top of that if the water pipes freeze they can burst and require costly repairs. Then there is the risk of Carbon Monoxide poisoning by using dirty fireplaces or pellet stoves which kills 480 people in the United States each year. Then there is the risk of causing fires by using older unsafe models of space heaters, or using the stove or oven to stay warm.  The spaceheaters I have purchased for this cause are exponentially safer than what people have used in the past, they are electric, have internal thermostats and timers to prevent overheating, and most importantly a kill switch so it automatically disconnects if it has been knocked over. They're safe enough that I have one in my own home! For only being a small 1500watt unit it can makes 5000 BTUs of heat. They will be dropped off at AFL-CIO, where they will be requested by those in need.
