The Sacramento Stingrays is a non profit all volunteer supported swim team that offers training and practice for recreational swimmers ages 6-18 with all ability levels. We were founded in 1960 and have been in continuous operation ever since.
In this coming 2015 season we are moving our practice and meet location to a new facility. This became necessary because our former aged facility could no longer meet our needs and standards. Unfortunately, the new facility will require us to purchase new equipment, as some of the equipment we used in previous years belonged to our former facility.
For those who would like to know why we are asking for donations to our team , we offer the following list. To host dual and tri meets, We will need approximately 45 plastic/metal folding chairs and rolling carrier, 6-8 straight leg white easy up canopies, a portable rolling sink and refrigerator for our snack bar, and money to purchase new lane lines and a storage reel for those lines.
As a nonprofit community organization we are committed to providing a clean, properly equiped, safe, positive and friendly environment for the youth who join the team. Each season we provide programs and clinics to our members and any interested public, aimed at improving specific swimming skills and methods. We are committed to the continued improvement of our sport and the swimmers who engage in it. We want our swimmers to achieve personal success, reach personal goals, and as a team achieve competitive success. We seek to enable the personal growth of each swimmer and to build a tradition of competitive excellence and sportsmanship. When our swimmers are successful in fulfilling their hopes and goals our community and team benefit from the inspiration these young people give us.
For 55 years the Sacramento Stingrays have been an integral part of Sacramento Youth Sports, and we believe we fulfill a unique niche in the traditions of the Sacramento swimming community. With your help we will continue to provide the unique opportunity that only a swimteam experience can create for our local youth. We thank you for anything you can help us with.
