Fund for SPU shooting victims

My name is Travis Retherford, I am originally from Duvall Washington but I currently reside in Magnolia. I am a first year transfer student at SPU and I, like many others, feel hurt and helpless in this time of tragedy. I did not know the victims of the shooting very well. In fact the only person I knew was Paul Lee. I had been to bible study with Paul a few times, and I had an art class with him. The last time I saw him was the morning of the shooting, he walked into class giggling about something, and it instantly spread throughout the class. Most of his appearances were marked with a similar attitude. The victims of the SPU shooting, our fellow students, brothers and sisters, and their families, went through and are still going through extreme pain after the events of June 5th. Myself and other SPU students are collecting money for the victims of the shooting and their families, specifically for Paul's funeral costs, and Sarah's hospital bills. I have recently contacted SPU's main office in order to assure that the funds raised make it to the victims and their families. As a group, myself and a handful of other Crossfit Interbay athletes who also attend SPU will do 1 burpee for every dollar donated by June 22nd. We will be doing our burpees at Crossfit Interbay at 10:00 AM. If you would like to join us please feel free, you can donate the day of the event and help us do our burpees.
