Help our little Gem Ruby.
This little Jack Russell Terrier needs your help. This little girl was found by a local resident who took her in.   But at an initial vet visit, her owner got the news that she had mammary tumors and was in need of surgery. Unable to afford the care she needed, they reluctantly took her to the local animal shelter, hoping that she might get that treatment.   The shelter was unable to give her the treatment she needed, making her future very uncertain.  Just a few days from euthanasia, one of our volunteers was at the shelter and heard about this  little terrier. The tumors are extensive and both sides, but she responded with such a sparkle that we (Animal Welfare League of Frederick County) had to rescue her.

What a little gem we have with this little girl appropriately named Ruby, which means “radiates warmth and a strong sense of vitality” which fits her personality now shining through.

Won’t you help us fund Ruby’s two surgeries to give her the chance she deserves? We are trying to raise $ 4,500 to pay the cost of the surgeries and follow up care.
