Cephas Gilbert has been a fixture in Ybor city since the early 80s selling exquisite Jamaican food and drink since 1982. A specialty is his aloe smoothie, which he makes fresh in front of you and has amazing health and healing attributes.  We're talking fountain of youth/change your life kind of stuff.

Cephas's Restaurant suffered a fire a couple of years ago and since then he's been operating simply sharing his aloe shakes and messgae of health and community to everyone who will listen from the outdoor counter next to the restaurants.

He's been slowly rebuilding the restaurant and preparing the back yard (which is an awesome spot for a reggae show under the stars and bamboo leaves) in order the reopen the restaurant that is his legacy since the 80s.

Tampa CAN NOT afford to loose this healthful, community building, character-rich individual and establishment.

Cephas shared with me that with $15,000 he could have the restaurant up and running within 30 days.  

I'd love to deliver him the challenge by raising the money to help him get those doors back open.

In the relatively short time I've know Cephas this past year it's been very clear that he is one of a kind and I don't know if there's anyone out there that cares as much as he does about the health of our community and our society, starting with every person he meets.

I've heard the stories and have met a ton of people who Cephas has helped and inspired over the years and I believe all of those people feel as strongly as I do that good must prevail and Cephas needs to be operating at full capacity again.

I believe we can raise the money to help him get the restaurant open.  I shared with him that I wanted to admin this on-line fundraiser and that I thought I knew some people who might give $50 or $100.  His response, "50 cents would be a blessing, Thank you brother, respect".
