My son Reese is a junior at Saint Peter's Prep in Jersey City, NJ. He has been a member Prep Vox, their awarding winning choir, since freshman year.
Prep Vox was created in 2009 and is directed by GP Eleria. The boys are looking to raise funds in order to travel to Europe to compete in the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia as well as the Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod in Wales. Please consider sponsoring Reese and his Prep Vox brother James on this amazing choral competition journey. These young men have been working hard and have such talent and love for music.
Prep Vox was ranked as the 743rd Best Choir on the planet by the Interkultur Foundation.
In the Spring of 2010, the group won the coveted gold prize at the Heritage Music Festivals in Washington D.C., and then again at the 2013 Heritage Festival in New York City.
Summer of 2012 they received a Silver Medal at the World Choir Games in Cincinnati, Ohio. Today they are raising funds to return to the World Choir Games and bring home a Gold Medal.
October 2012 Prep Vox was putting the finishing touches on their second album when Hurricane Sandy hit and demolished much of our campus including everything in our Vox and band rooms. The recordings and all our equipment were washed away in the storm. FEMA had the school closed for almost two weeks while cleanup was in process but that didn't break our boys' spirit. They quickly, together with the school band, got to work putting together a benefit concert to restore the lost equipment and rebuild the Vox classroom and rehearsal room. This year they were able to record another album that was just released entitled SUSCIPE.
They released their debut album entitled, "Hearts on Fire" in 2011.
In March 2014, our Jersey City Mayor asked Prep Vox to perform at the NJ Devils NHL game at the Prudential Center on their "Jersey City Night".
