Please help us catch up so we can stay alive, thrive, and continue to help others feel better in their bodies without hurting their pockets.
We have a small Pilates & fitness studio that tries to serve people who can't normally afford the services we offer. We provide donation based & sliding scale classes, sliding scale & inexpensive personal training & therapeudic massage. This is very unusual in the Pilates world and we have built a whole community around us as a result. We don't know how big our reach is but to hear our students and clients speak of us, our effect has been powerful and unique. It's a truely gratifying job!

We recently had to close for a month because plumbing issues in the building were causing odors in our studio. Eww! There were repairs to make and huge electric bills as we ran every kind of fan and air cleaner we could find. We were already losing business for months due to the growing odor. 6 months later, it's finally mostly fixed and comfortable again and only our little treatment room is still stinky.
We are too small to handle such a closure and additional expense, especially after spending our savings to move the biz from Oakland, and then getting pregnant 2 months after openning in Berkeley. As a result, we owe back rent, and worst of all, we owe our amazing teachers back pay!
We are scrambling, using every resource we can find to keep the business alive, including income from JC's other job as a Barback schleping ice and alcohol for 10's of thousands at a time. And of course we are also trying to keep up with Disa, our amazing 16 month old.
