We are launching an emergency response to help survivors of Typhoon Yolanda"”possibly the strongest storm in recorded history"”after it slammed the Philippines last Friday, Nov. 8, 2013.
The storm's strength was equivalent to an extremely powerful Category 5 hurricane, with maximum sustained winds of 195mph and gusts up to 235mph. It is far more powerful than Hurricane Katrina was before it struck the U.S. with devastating effect in 2005.

The Philippines' central islands were particularly hard hit as extreme winds and giant waves flattened communities across the area. Local officials in the hardest-hit Leyte Island said there could be 10,000 dead in the city of Tacloban alone, primarily from drowning and collapsed buildings. Most of the deaths were in Tacloban, a city of about 200,000 that is the biggest on Leyte Island.
Corpses hung from tree branches and were scattered along sidewalks and among flattened buildings.The whole Leyte area, specifically Tacloban was washed out and survivors have no means to feed themselves. Help from government and private sectors are there but not enough to serve everyone. Rushing to meet the most urgent needs of food, clean water, and emergency shelter for 400,000 people.
Your donation will help provide vital relief to children and families devastated by Typhoon Yolanda in the Philippines. For as little as $24 you can provide essential supplies like a blanket or mosquito net. Just $33 can supply clean water and hygiene kits for a family. A donation of $184 can give a family emergency shelter.
It is most important that we help all those (Muslim & Non Muslim) who have been inflicted with this disaster, thus we send for them such aid which will lighten their difficulties and hardships. This, in reality is a golden opportunity for those of generosity and favor that they sent forth for themselves what they will find by Allah as betterment and unimagined returns.
Allah (SWT) said in Surah Baqarah Ayah # 177:
"Righteousness is not that you turn your faces to the East and the West; but righteousness is that one believes in Allah and the Last Day and the angels and the Book and the Prophets, and gives wealth, despite its love* , to relatives, and to orphans, the helpless, the wayfarer, and to those who ask, and (spends) in (freeing) slaves and observes the prayers and pays the Zakah; and those who fulfil their promise when they promise and, of course, the patient** in hardships and sufferings and when in battle! Those are the ones who are true and those are the God-fearing." (2:177) Abu Hurayrah (radi Allahu anhu) reported that the Prophet (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) said, "One who strives to help the widows and the poor is like the one who fights in the way of Allah." The narrator said: I think that He (sal Allahu alaihi wa sallam) added also: "I shall regard him as the one who stands up (for prayer) without rest and as the one who observes fasts continuously."
