Refrigerator for Perry Food Pantry

The Pittsburgh Perry Gender Sexuality Alliance works on ways to make our school a more peaceful and productive place. When thinking about the problem of bullying, we realized that some kids may feel angry because of things they may need and don't have.

That's when we started the idea of Project Rush Hour, an in-house, student food pantry in our high school. We then reached out to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food bank to partner with them. With the help of Perry's incredible JROTC, we bring in 1,000 pounds of food a week that students distribute to students.

We know that our community suffers from higher than average levels of nutrition-related diseases, so we want to start sending fresh produce home. The purpose of this fundraiser is to help ensure that our work with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank can continue, and so we can raise funds to purchase a refrigerator. With a refrigerator we can send home fresh greens, fresh fruit, and fresh vegetables to students and their families. The pathway to a more peaceful, calm, loving and productive community starts with good nutrition for kids. We appreciate your help very much!
