Over the last eight years, Phoenix Annual Parade of the Arts (PAPA) has celebrated culture and neighborhood collaboration in Downtown Phoenix. As an audience- participatory, non-motorized procession, we have garnered a loyal following. Proud of the accomplishments shared by our participants, collaborators and sponsors, we have won several New Times “Best of Phoenix” awards, have had support from the Mayor of Phoenix and have attracted regional and national attention. We originated a Phoenix DIY parade tradition now shared by the popular Zombie Walk and Mardi Gras events. Lasting projects have included the permanent stage in the Downtown Phoenix neighborhood of Roosevelt Row. PAPA will be partnering with the Grand Avenue Festival in the Grand Avenue Arts District on November 8, 2014 for our 9th annual event. As of 2014, we do not receive government or corporate funding and have few business sponsors. Please help keep PAPA’s independent spirit alive! We are asking for support from the community to continue our family friendly and free celebration of personal expression.
