Outdoor Campus Boat Shed Rebuild

Early on the morning of Saturday, July 11, we at The Outdoor Campus learned that the shed we'd used to store our kayaks, paddles, lifejackets, and waterfowl decoys had burned to the ground, along with the canoe trailer next to it. All the contents of the shed (21 kayaks, one tandem kayak, around 80 lifejackets, 90 paddles, and the decoys) and the majority of the canoes were also lost. The total cost to replace the shed and equipment has been estimated in the $25-30 thousand range.
The equipment lost is crucial to The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks Outdoor Campus's summertime operations; in the next two weeks alone we have over 600 students signed up for various paddling classes, and we're expecting over 3000 attendees for our Outdoor University event on August 1. Your donation would be greatly appreciated, and it would help us continue our efforts to teach Sioux Falls to love and respect the outdoors for years to come.
