Hello! Welcome to my fundraising site! I am so honored that you chose to click on this site. Whether or not you are able to contribute monetarily to my trip, I pray that my story blesses you and that you will join me in prayer for this incredible experience.
In the summer of 2007, God spoke so clearly to my heart regarding His desire for me to go into the mission field, particularly to work with families and teenage girls. I was only 14 at the time and the call terrified me. All I could think about was no electricity, no running water, and never seeing my family and friends again. My jaded (and rather selfish) view of the mission field caused me to run from the entire idea.
When I moved off to college in the fall of 2011, everything began to change. I started off as a music major but couldn't escape the calling God placed on my life four years prior. I decided to take some missions classes as well as begin to pursue a career in psychology. Through the wisdom and teaching of Dr. Moodley and Dr. Cuellar, my view of the mission field experienced a complete shift. I understood that although the work is difficult it is more rewarding than I could imagine. My heart for the mission field was rekindled and I began to look for an opportunity to serve.
Over the past two years, there have been many opportunities for me to go overseas to work on the mission field. However, I did not feel God's strong leading for me to accept any of these invitations. That is, until now!
I am SO EXCITED to announce that from July 10 - July 24, 2014, I will be traveling to Quito, Ecuador, to participate in a two week missions trip! During this time, I will be involved in weekly church services, social ministry, children and youth activities, office work at the Seminario Sudamericano, youth/children/prayer services, youth camps, and other assignments. This is a truly awesome opportunity to spread the love of God to the people of Quito!
I would like to say a very special thank you to the Lynch family for their invitation to be involved in their ministry during this time!
You too can be involved in this ministry opportunity! I cannot do this trip alone! There are two main ways in which you can support me during this time:
1. The first way you can help is through your fervent prayers. In
Matthew 18:18-20, Jesus tells us "Truly I tell you, whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven. Again, truly I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything they ask for, it will be done for them by my Father in heaven. For where two or three gather in my name, there I am with them." Your prayers are heavily coveted during this time! I cannot fund or go on this trip without the prayers and support of my brothers and sisters.
2. The second way you can help is through monetary support. Taking a trip out of the country is a daunting task but I believe that God will provide every penny. What will your money cover for this trip? Because I am choosing to do an individually arranged trip, there is a little more cost involved than if I was to go with a church or school group. In order to obtain the most cost/time efficient airfare, I need around $900 by the middle of April. This is approaching VERY SOON! Donations given through this site and through other means will cover my passport, airfare (round trip), travel insurance, room and board, tourist costs, and an emergency fund. Anything extra will go directly to Lynch Family Missions.
Please do not feel obligated to give a large amount of money. If all of my Facebook friends gave only $2 the cost of this trip would be paid in full! Every single penny helps!
