Our daughter, Miss Darianna Browning recently participated in the National American Miss Michigan State Pageant on July 4-6, 2014 in Dearborn, Michigan. Out of approximately 100 young ladies Darianna placed 4th runner-up in the Queen's court in the Junior Pre-Teen Division. She also placed 1st runner-up in the Actress Competition, 1st runner-up in the Casual wear competition, 1st runner-up in the Top Model competition. Because of her accomplishments she has advanced to the National Competition.
It is our pleasure to announce that Miss Darianna Browning will represent the City of Kalamazoo as City Queen in the 2014 National All-American Miss Competition. Kalamazoo, Michigan will be represented over 2,100 miles away as she competes for the title of National All-American Miss Queen, November 22-29, 2014 in Anaheim California.
She is so excited and this is a dream that will soon become a reality. We are asking for the support of our friends and family. Any sponsorship, big or small, is much appreciated. We ask that you will help our daughter to reach her goal and to reach Nationals! Thank you in advance!
The National American Miss Pageant is not a beauty pageant with the glitz, glam and drama. It is a pageant dedicated to celebrating America's greatness and encouraging its future leaders. Each year, the pageant awards thousands of dollars in scholarships and prizes to recognize and assist the development of young women nationwide. The organization is about empowering young ladies to believe in themselves and to be confident with whom they were created to be.
The National American Miss Pageant is for "Today's Girl and Tomorrow's Leaders." The pageant programs is based on inner beauty, as well as poise, presentation, and offers an "All American Spirit" of fun for family and friends. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence, volunteer work, learning new skills, learning good attitudes about competition, and setting and achieving personal goals. The pageant seeks to recognize the accomplishments of each girl while encouraging her to set goals for the future. Also, knowing that there is so much more to beauty than what you see on the outside.
Miss Browning is an excellent student she is very balanced and focused. She is doing well in school and is looking forward to being a fifth grader this year. Miss Browning is an avid dancer and has a passion for dance far beyond her years. From the words of her liturgical dance teacher "She is dedicated to sharpening her skill and deepening her craft. She is not just a dancer for recreational/extra-curricular enjoyment, dancing is an innate ability that she possesses that energizes her spirit, soul, and body." Her future goal is to become a professional dancer and a fashion designer.
