Princess Mikayla's Miles Kidney

Donation protected
Our 6-year-old grand-daughter Mikayla, who lives in Oregon, was born 6 weeks premature on July 5th, 2008 weighing in at 4 pounds 5 ounces, 17 inches long. The birth defects were detected on a routine ultrasound at approximately 16 weeks gestation. Parents went in for a routine ultrasound and to find out if their baby was a boy or a girl and received this news as well. While they were clearly devastated and in shock; they knew this little girl was their precious daughter. Mikayla was born with several birth defects including Goldenhar Syndrome and Mirognathia among others. She has a trach and a feeding tube, also just had cataract surgery. Just recently she was diagnosed with severe stage 4 renal failure and needs a kidney transplant by Fall 2015. She has other needed surgeries and dental work that are on hold for now.

She has been a trooper to say the least, undergoing numerous surgeries and too many hospitalizations to count and has spent nearly half of her 6 years in the hospital. Mikayla's growth and development has been delayed but she takes each day in stride, loves life, and captures everyone's heart she meets. She has the heart and spirit of a Champion; and we believe in Miracles.

The funds collected will help cover medical costs and out of pocket expenses for Mikayla.

Mikayla has many family and friends that love her and are very involed in her life. Mikayla lives with her mom and two busy brothers age 8 and 4. Mom is a probable donor match. Mikayla's dad, step-mom and three more siblings are also involved, supportive and love Mikayla dearly.

60 year old Grandpa Jerry will be cycling 2400 miles from San Antonio Texas to Canby Oregon; to be completed over 30 days, from May 15-June13, 2015. Grandma Susan is driving, leading the way and interceding for all that is set before them. We have been training and preparing for this journey that is set before us.

Please share to spread the word.

We greatly appreciate your prayers and generosity,

Be Blessed~
