A Dream of Music - Arts Block Concert
A
fifty year retrospective of music from theater, opera and concert hall
by regional composer Joseph Marcello will take place Sunday, April 28th at 3:00 p.m. at The Arts Block in
Greenfield. Marcello, who holds degrees in classical guitar and composition
from the Aaron Copland School of Music in New York City and a Master's degree
in composition from the University of Massachusetts, is co-director of Music
for Life Studios in Northfield, Massachusetts. He has also, for the past 8
years, authored the "˜Encores & Curtain Calls' music and theater column for
the Greenfield Recorder.
Vocal artists will feature the popular, rising operatic
soprano, Maria Ferrante and tenor, Irwin Reese, a veteran member of the
Metropolitan Opera Chorus. Instrumentalists will include Gregory Hayes at the
piano (Dartmouth College), Fredric Cohen, oboe
(University of Massachusetts), and Rebecca Hartka, cello (Trio Lumiere).
Also performing will be Dorota Wilhelmi-Kol, violin, Joseph McCaffrey,
clarinet, Anna Emberly, soprano, Jonathan Harvey, baritone, and Thom Griffin,
Narrator.

musicians.
