Maddux Family Fund
In January 2015, Jenna Maddux was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer. Though difficult and potentially devastating, cancer was just the biggest in a yearlong string of trials for Jenna and her husband Blake. Shortly after celebrating the birth of their beautiful girl Anna Claire in April 2014, Blake lost his job, their home was ruined by flood, and Jenna’s health began to deteriorate. Following the initial diagnosis, Jenna’s doctors discovered that the cancer had metastasized to several places in her chest, abdomen, and pelvis. In the last 5 months, Jenna has endured chemotherapy and radiation, been in and out of the hospital, had surgery to remove the tumor from her colon, and, most recently, underwent an unexpected brain surgery to remove a tumor from her cerebellum.
Blake, Jenna, and Anna Claire have been surrounded by the love, prayers, and support of their community. Their family, friends, and church have been by their side throughout, sharing their emotional and physical burdens. Through this campaign, you have the opportunity to love the Maddux family by meeting their practical needs. $100,000 will allow Blake to oversee the completion of their new home in Shelby Park, help to cover the growing medical costs associated with Jenna’s ongoing treatment, and give Blake the opportunity to care for Jenna and Anna Claire without the pressure of finding immediate employment.
Blake and Jenna have resisted the temptation to despair, graciously responding to these trials by choosing to live with hope and peace. Acknowledging the reality of their circumstances, they hope for a future free of death and suffering and they live with a peace that surpasses understanding. By giving to this campaign, you will be encouraging the Maddux family as they continue this journey.
