Love For Lynn

Donation protected
To everyone supporting our dear friend, Lynn Pulliam, in her journey, we thank each of you from the bottom of our hearts for your thoughtfulness, continued prayers, love and support.

On July 8th, Lynn had an MRI performed at Porter Adventist Emergency, in which a large mass with fluid was identified on her brain. The size was noted larger than a golf ball and smaller than a baseball. She was immediately transferred that evening to Littleton Adventist ICU.

Lynn had been experiencing major lapses in her short term memory and was struggling to recall phone numbers, names and general processes. Lynn said she “just felt off” and by the end of the workday on Wednesday decided to go to the emergency room. As we all know, there is often no stopping Lynn! We are all so relieved that she did not wait for an actual doctor’s appointment like she was planning.

On Saturday, July 11th Lynn underwent emergency surgery to relieve a large amount of fluid that was unable to pass due to the growing size of her tumor. During surgery, the doctor removed as much of the brain tumor as he could to relieve pressure.  A biopsy was also performed. Lynn was indeed diagnosed with a malignant Glioma tumor.  She has before and since the surgery met with multiple neurosurgeons and discussed possible prognosis and protocols for treatment, including chemotherapy and radiation to shrink the remaining tumor which most likely will require travel to additional facilities out of state.

Lynn was speaking clearly immediately after the surgery and was able to move her right hand (which is the side they were mainly worried about). All very good signs, according to her doctors. Lynn met with a Speech Therapist on Monday and was assessed. That afternoon, she was moved out of the ICU. Lynn is struggling with her vision in one eye off and on and her short term memory especially has been impacted. We have noticed, however, that she has an amazing recollection of all things NGL!

Lynn continues to be the spunky, focused, thoughtful, humorous, “let’s get it done” person whom we have all have grown to love! Upon hearing her diagnosis, she joked “Well NOW I have a headache…do you think it’s psychosomatic?”  She has kept us laughing and is not afraid to just talk about the cancer and the tumor. She lives her life OUT LOUD. And this is just one example of why we all care so deeply for our dear friend! Lynn is one of the strongest women we know, and she he believes in powering through whatever difficulty is at hand.

If anyone can kick this cancer, Lynn can!

We will continue to post updates as quickly as they become available. Overall, the doctors are pleased with Lynn’s current status. She is being continuously assessed, as her status fluctuates by the hour. Medical staff confirms to all visitors that Lynn is doing great and that all of us need to keep encouraging her. The desk attendants at the hospital have told her visitors that Lynn is “a very nice lady!” and we agree. She is also the BEST BOSS EVER!

Lynn was moved into rehab today and plans to be there for about 10 days -- after which, she will be sent home!

We are reaching out to our NGL team as well as her friends and family to keep everyone involved in her journey towards healing.

Please continue to help support Lynn in any way that you can and share with friends, if they are able.

It is a very long road ahead for Lynn. She needs help in caring for her pets, preparation of meals, organizing bill payments, general house cleaning and expenses for upcoming treatments and medical bills.

Keeping Lynn in your throughts and prayers is also SO appreciated!!

Thank you for the continued support!! The love being shown for Lynn has been incredible.
