Lorraine Dimery’s Helping Hands

Donation protected
There comes a time in everyone’s life where depending on others is essential to our survival. Most of us think about that happening during childhood but life has taught us that if we are fortunate, we may have two periods in life when God’s mercy and grace shown by the acts of others are indeed gifts that can sustain us.

If we are to pursue a rich life, blessing others because we are so richly blessed, perhaps we can be compelled to find causes that warrant our monetary gifts.  It is in that spirit that we ask you to consider joining Lorraine’s Helping Hands Fund.

To all who know her, and those who don’t, Lorraine Dimery of Kingstree, South Carolina is one of our sisters who desperately need our help and support. Lorraine through no actions of her own presently suffers from severe dementia. She is a vulnerable adult who is a widow and relies on one distant but loving relative to support her needs.

She requires 24-hour care and it is currently provided by health agencies in Columbia, South Carolina.

Regrettably she has no means of on-going income and will become a resident of a state nursing facility if resources are not secured to sustain her care at the location where she now resides.

Lorraine has always extended a helping hand to her friends, neighbors, community, college, professional affiliations, civic groups, educational endeavors and honestly, anyone in need!  After graduating from Spelman College, Lorraine served as a leader in her community giving her time and financial gifts to many people and causes. She graciously represented her beloved sorority Delta Sigma Theta, hosted local radio programming for community events and served on the board of Williamsburg Technical College.  After graduating from  Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service, she was the third generation managing funeral director of her family firm, Dimery & Rogers Funeral Home, Inc. in Kingstree, South Carolina.  She was an active member of the South Carolina Morticians Association, Inc. and the National Funeral Directors & Morticians Association, Inc. and humbly served her local church, Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

As a group of friends committed to extending a hand of help, we ask you to join us and make a generous donation to Lorraine’s Helping Hands Fund, accessible though GOFUNDME.com/Lorrainedimery, an on-line charitable fundraising website. Alternatively, checks can be made payable to Lorraine’s Helping Hands Fund – FOR DEPOSIT ONLY – 4060 Peachtree Road Suite D #166 Atlanta, Ga. 30319

Donations will only be used for health; housing and medical care expenses rendered on behalf of Lorraine, the beneficiary of the fund. All fund disbursements are subject to governance by a diverse oversight committee that includes legal representation, collegiate long-term associates and guardian of record/caregiver to Ms. Dimery.

Please join us in extending a helping hand to Lorraine Dimery.  Become a Helping Hand TODAY!
