People have asked for the short version of what Kaylee has been through since 2012. After being diagnosed with four brain tumors and her spine being full of tumors. She has had The total of 12  surgeries also eight weeks of intense chemotherapy a stem cell transplant and then 36 radiation treatments. Kaylee recently turned seven  .  She is in remission right now but returns to Duke Children's Hospital every six months for scans of her brain and spine at the cost of 24,000 for the scans.  We have insurance that pays 80% of what they believe the bill should be and we are responsible for the rest.   We lose time off from work and have the expenses for traveling to North Carolina and staying overnight. Below is the story we started in 2012

Kaylee is now 5 as of April 1st 2014. This account was started in 2012 when Kaylee was first diagnosed .  Kaylee just finished her second battle with Brain Cancer.  In June 2014 another tumor was found which required surgery, followed by 36 radiation treatments.  her treatments was done at Duke Hospital at N.C.  the following was written  in 2012.

Kaylee Alexis Elmore is my three old granddaughter. In March of 2012 after a sudden illness was diagnosed with multiple brain Tumors, Medulloblastoma. She also had Tumors up and down her spine. We were told to take Kaylee home and to let her die. After talking to another doctor we were sent to Dukes Children's Hospital. A specialist here said he would try treating her for two months. If the Tumors respond he would continue treatment. The Tumors has responded and has amazed the doctors. Kaylee has had seven surgerys and has just had a stem cell transplant. She is remarkable. The cost of all her treatment. is costly we stand to loose everything, however her health, her life is worth everything. We also have six other children, that brings sunshine to our lives. And three other wonderful grandchildren that are happy and healthy.

Sad to say that on June 9 during routine scans,we were devastated to be told Kaylees cancer has returned.  She has a new tumor in a different location of her brain. The fist time it effected her mobility, she had to relearn to walk.  This time we are told to expect her to be mute for a few months, or it could be  permanent. And of course they had to remind us that she would have to have radiation this time,,which will cause brain damaged. Our Kaylee will never be the same happy kid she is today. Breaks our heart. Please keep Kaylee in your prayers,,,God gave us a miracle last time, he can do it again!
