Kayden Needs CST

Donation protected
Kayden was born on 8/8/2014 and is such a blessing to us. When he was about 5 days old he was diagnosed with a tight lingual frenum, also known as a tongue tie.  After his diagnosis we began noticing symptoms, he would lose suction while nursing, gulp uncomfortably loud, choke on milk, have gas pains and would nurse very frequently.

Since he was gaining weight well, we decided to wait and see if we needed to do anything about it. After 8 weeks of problematic nursing for Kayden and anxiety for Kayla,  Kayden had a frenectomy done to separate the tight frenum.  We waited patiently to see improvement, but saw very little difference in his nursing abilities.  At 10 weeks we were informed that it had been an incomplete frenectomy and had reattached badly. We chose to do the procedure again with a more highly recommended doctor in hopes that Kayden would be able to nurse more comfortably and efficiently.  It was really hard to need to repeat it and we prayed that this would be the fix we needed. We have noticed that Kayden again has more tongue function, but is still dealing with symptoms related to the tie, and with further investigation have found that it has grown back together again. We are thankful for the improvement that we have seen but are so sad that it has not resolved the issue.

We really do not want Kayden to have to undergo another tongue tie procedure, and at this time have chosen to pursue a less invasive route of CranioSacral Therapy.  CranioSacral therapy is gentle touch therapy to relieve tensions especially in the neck and head. Although it will not remove the tongue tie, we are praying that it can relieve the symptoms and allow Kayden to have greater freedom in his mouth and an easier time eating.

CranioSacral therapy is not available here in Ensenada where we work as missionaries and we have found an excellent CST to work with in San Diego.  We will need to travel to San Diego once a week for 6-18 weeks to see optimal results.  To cover our gas and the cost of the therapy we will need a minimum of $475 (for 6 weeks). We would love it if we had enough for more sessions since 6 is truly the minimum number suggested for tongue tied babies and he could need up to about 18 if he's got really stubborn tensions.  Our goal is $1500, enough for the total cost of 18 sessions (transportation included), and any money received that we do not need for Kayden's treatment will be used to help continue our work here in Ensenada.

Would you please consider partnering with us to help our baby boy?

Thank you!
