Canada Period Project - Kamloops
Donation protected
Canada Period Project is a community of volunteers working throughout four Western Canadian cities. We aim to destigmatize menstruation and create access to period products for low-income and homeless people of all genders. It is estimated that at least 235,000 Canadians experience homelessness in a year and approximately 35,000 are homeless on a given night. Dealing with the uncertainty of where you’re going to sleep or get your next meal is bad enough; now imagine having the added stress of being on your period without adequate supplies.
Menstrual products are essential items that are financially inaccessible. For homeless and low-income people, purchasing menstrual products can have serious repercussions. It could mean not being able to afford bus fare, groceries, and other essential items that month. We want to help change that.
The Kamloops chapter of Canada Period Project has 3 beneficiaries working with low-income and homeless people in our neighbourhoods. All funds donated to this initiative will directly benefit people in our community. For more information about Canada Period Project, please visit our facebook page, or send us an email.
