This is my brother Jon.
He was recently diagnosed with a rare and extremely aggressive cancer called Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Soft Tissue Sarcoma. He's being treated by Seattle Cancer Care Alliance at the University of Washington Medical Center.
Last week I was able to travel to Seattle to visit him in the hospital while he was receiving his first round of chemo.
Jon is 28 years old and is so talented. He's a well-loved musician who can actually write his own songs and sing and play guitar better than anyone I know. He recently went back to school and has been doing amazingly well. Before beginning chemo treatments in Seattle, he was living in Lewiston, ID with his beautiful girlfriend Brooke, and his pup Petra.
Cancer is expensive. While Jon is in Seattle, he's staying with our mom when he's between chemo treatments and ER visits. She's been footing a huge bill while Jon and Brooke are staying with her; more than what she can afford on her single income.
Jon's prescription copays have already cost her hundreds of dollars. She's filling her gas tank multiple times per week. And she's been doing all this while taking time off work.
So I'd like to help. And I need your help. This fund will go to Jon's cancer treatment expenses, and to the expenses of his care that our mom has been providing. Please join me in supporting them by donating whatever you are able. Anything helps, no matter how small.
I realize it's the holiday season, and times are tight for just about everyone. Your support might make it possible for my brother to spend another holiday season with us.
