Help for John Burton's family

John Burton is a longtime resident of Vero Beach, FL along with his wonderful wife, Kristin and his beautiful daughter, Makenzie (Mak). They have been involved in the community they hold so dear for many years being on the soccer field, in community theater, at Vero Beach High School, or at First Baptist Church Preschool where Kristin works. They have given tirelessly of their time and have always helped out friends in need without hesitation. Now they need your help. John has been in Indian River Memorial Hospital since early February after major complications that started off with a routine colonoscopy. John has been through 5 major surgeries and 2 minor in the last 4 weeks. He has had his Colon removed and an ileostomy put in place. He has a tracheotomy to help him breathe and an Arterial Catheter which is for the dialysis that he is on every other day. Because of some of the blood pressure medication pulling the blood away from his extremities they had to remove all of John's toes on both feet to prevent infection. Just tonight John had to go in for an exploratory surgery to find the source of major blood loss. This surgery found his spleen ruptured. They removed the spleen and have the bleeding under control. Now we begin the battle to fight the super bug CRE . This is a very difficult infection to kill because of the limited amount of antibiotics that will attack the super bug. With every day being an uphill battle, Kristin has been unable to work and stays by his side everyday. Their medical bills are rising and their household bills still continue. Kristin and Mak need to focus on getting John healed and the pressure of the finances are mounting. Please help in any way you can to ease the stress this family is going through.
