The Story Behind the Truck

“My little brother Jesse Steed was the Captain of the Granite Mountain Hot Shots. He died with 18 of his crew in the Yarnell fire on 06-30-13.

Our family has been through tragedy from a young age. Our mother passed away in a vehicle accident when Jesse was 12. Our mother had purchased a 57 GMC pickup to fix up before she died.

The pickup sat on our grandparents property for years rusting away until Jesse convinced them to let him fix it up. Jesse did just that and had it running. He was slowly restoring it and doing it in his meticulous manner he used for every project he took on.

He still had much work to do on it before he left this world. The reason I'm sharing this information is I'm hoping someone will take on this vehicle as a project to honor the 19 fallen Hotshots, my brother, and my mother.” – Cassidy Steed

STREET RODS BY AUTO ART graciously took on restoring Jesse's truck which will be in the Annual Prescott Parade.  The 19 names of the fallen are painted on the side of the truck, with the Granite Mountain Hotshots logo beautifully done throughout the interior.

This restoration is funded through donations & we need your help so they can finish the truck & deliver by June 30th!
