Jana Rogers Medical

A wife, elementary school teacher, and mother of two young daughters, Jana was only in her 30’s, when she recently received a devastating diagnoses that a ravaging cancer had entrenched itself throughout her abdominal area. A cancer usually reserved for women in their 60’s or beyond, the doctors say that most people with this rare type of peritoneal ovarian cancer, rarely live longer than 5 years past diagnosis. There are no early detection screenings available with this cancer, and as with Jana, it is oftentimes diagnosed in late stages. Jana was diagnosed at stage III-C.

After multiple surgeries and a few months on a standard treatment plan, that was effective for a time, the tumors have now begun to grow and multiply again.

The cost of battling cancer, doctor’s visits, time off from work, medicine, and frequent and long trips for life-saving treatments, can be daunting. The financial burden of cancer care can be overwhelming, to say the least. For those that know Jana, you know she is a fighter though. She doesn’t give up easily, and has certainly never been a statistic!

Jana’s faith is much bigger than her fear, though. With the inability to know how long she has, Jana is devoting her time and her strength to her family, friends, and others. Having two young daughters watch their mom go through multiple surgeries, chemo treatments, and all the other hardships that a family fighting cancer endures, has them wondering at times, “Why, God? Why THIS? Why OUR mommy?” However, the strength of Jana’s spirit and the hope the Rogers have will continue, as they wait with their family and friends, in the peace that only God can give.

We pray for a miracle, and in the company of her husband, children, and friends and family, watch and wait and hold on to the promises of God, as we rest in him and see HIM take care of all the details.
