AGS Awareness Marathon Run

Donation protected
Hello Friends and Family!

On February 1st, 2015, Super Bowl Sunday, I will attempt to run my 1st Marathon: the Surf City Marathon in Huntington Beach.  A California dream run along the PCH (Eastcoasters: PCH=Pacific Coast Highway) of 26.2 miles. This week I started my 16-week training and I couldn't be more excited (and sore).

The real news is that I am running for GAVIN "BUBBA" LUND and to help raise money to continue the research and to find a cure for AGS (Aicardi-Goutierez Syndrome). As many of you know, Gavin was diagnosed shortly after his birth with AGS, a rare neuromuscular disease, and given a life expectancy of just one year. Yet many miracles later, with the help of friends and family, he overcame those odds and is now a BIG BOY at 7 years old! Most recently, Kim ("Om"), Nancy his physical therapist, and I, witnessed his first tricyle ride.

Although we have had some miraculous moments, the disease is still very real. His occassional seizures remind us how scary it is. You are welcome to read Kim's blog at

This fundraiser, "I Run For Bubba" is very important to me. Next summer I will marry Gavin's oldest sister, Courtney, the love of my life. One of many bonuses is that Bubba and I will become "Brothers Forever." I know that many of you have known Gavin for a long time. I've heard incredible stories of the love and support his family received during his early years. For me - I hadn't met Courtney yet when Bubba was born, and I wasn't there for his generous Benefit Event or to help out during his difficult early days. This fundraiser - running this race - is my way of further supporting the fight.

I am asking for a small donation to my run, $10, $20, $100!, whatever you can do, to help us continue the fight against AGS. All donations received will go directly to AGS.

I want to personally thank each of you in advance for your support.  Gavin is truly the "Best Boy," and his family and I are extremely grateful for any donation you can make.

Thank You,

Nick
