Using a mixture of dark satire, music, song and dance, 'Humble Pie' is a show that delves deep into the meat production industry and looks at what we really eat.

'Humble Pie' is a dark satire which explores the meat production industry, exploring what we really eat every day. Through a mixture of drama, music, dance and comedy, Cavaliers Theatre Company take audiences on a journey through the corridors of the Humble Pie factory to discover what is really in their food.

We are trying to get to Camden to bring the show 'Humble Pie' to a wider audience. It was initially developed by graduating year BA World Performanc students at East 15 Acting School as part of a module in political and applied theatre module. When shown in November 2014, the production had a profound impact on cast and audiences alike - one that is still being felt.

The production has been devised and directed by the company with guidance from professional director John Walton. John is Artistic Director of Fol Espoir, a touring company dedicated to new work that has created five shows to date: 'Winston On the Run' (UK Tour), 'Yoroboshi' by Yukio Mishima (New Wimbledon Theatre), 'Dr Brown Because' (Soho Theatre), 'Marcello al Dente Relives A Catastrophic Moment in His Life' (Edinburgh Fringe) and it's latest show 'Instructions for American Servicemen in Britain' (UK Tour). Upcoming freelance work includes 'Boy in Darkness' at the Blue Elephant this March and a new opera 'Knife of Darkness' in 2016. John also works with a variety of sketch and stand-up comedians, and was previously associate director at Gifford's Circus. He regularly teaches at East 15 Acting School, where his productions include 'Those Who Do Not Remember' (Tristan Bates Theatre) and 'Revolution' (Clifftown Theatre). He graduated from the Ecole Philippe Gaullier in 2007.

Many of the company see transfering Humble Pie out of a Drama School into the real world as a first step into the industry. Many of us have big plans for our future, and would like to step into the creative sphere with a punch, and we believe 'Humble Pie' can do this for us.

We would greatly appreciate any help you could give in order to transport our cast and crew of 20 to London for a run of shows in the Camden Fringe 2015. You'd be helping us bring the truth of just some of the brutality shown to animals within the factory farming industry and help to make a real difference in the way people shop and eat.
