As this year's Hope Totes fundraiser is closing down, I want to thank again every person, family and organization that was involved in this great cause. Who knew an idea that was discussed at a dinner table would grow into an unbelievable outcome!
Subway located at 4059 W. Algonquin, IL partnered with us, and supplied our fundraiser with (100) 6 inch sandwiches and (100) cookies.
On the day of delivery, every homeless person we crossed received a hope tote, subway sandwich, cookie and a bottle of water! Needless to say, their surprise and gratitude was unforgettable!
Thank you again for making this possible, and I hope everyone has a wonderful 2014!
Hello!! I wanted to give everyone a Hope Totes update. All supplies including reusable totes, hats, gloves, socks, rain ponchos, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrushes, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, nail clippers, chapstick, band-aids, water and snack bars have been shipped to my home.
Parkland Middle School in McHenry has donated their time to help my team and I assemble all the totes. This will take place on their Fund Day, December 19th. All totes will be distributed on December 22nd.
Thank you again to everyone who has supported Hope Totes! More updates to come :)
This holiday season, help us in our mission to create and personally distribute "Hope Totes" to the homeless in Chicago. Each reusable tote will consist of: a hat, gloves, socks, umbrella, raincoat, soap, toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, toilet paper, water bottle, snack bars and an inspirational quote. The starting goal is to raise $1000 and or create 100 totes - overall goal is to give the homeless hope to hold on to.
This a great idea and an extremely worthy cause; we're glad to extend a helping hand.
