His "faith" is strong but his "will" is stronger

John Tsesmelis was involved in a seemingly unreal aggravated assault. Resulting in a spinal cord injury at C4-C5, he has limited mobility and function below the collarbone. He does have some movement in both shoulders and parts of his arms.

John's passion has been playing the drums, since long before we can all remember. He is known as "STIX", creating bands and traveling time to time. Imaging him not playing his drums again is heartbreaking to us all.

Having a close call of losing his life once, already. John has fought, showing the best will power to live and resume back to a drummers' life.

Looking at a long road to recovery. We want nothing more than getting him back behind those drums, and to fight for him.

Let's get to know John Tsesmelis:

John is the kind of guy that will fish a red rag out of a gas tank with a clothing wire.
Be the one to play the drums at a house party simply to entertain his friends. John has been a part of so many young peoples lives that they all call him "Dad".

He is the granddad that will hang upside down on the jungle gym to make his granddaughter laugh.

The Dad that will always turn a bad day into a good day in one simple phone call.

The friend that will help you in a bind when you are in a need of a handyman.

He is the brother that will come over last minute whenever he is needed, no matter the reason.

The man that will grow out his hair for months on end, just to have his daughter (730 miles away) cut it.

John is the son that stays on the phone with his father, 90, (470 miles away) to explain how to turn on a new electronic.

The patient that will tell the nurse "I'll be here" when they say they will be right back.

John is also easily embarrassed if you show up to the airport with a "Sam Elliot" sign as he is walking out of the security check point.

Simply put this loving son, brother, father, friend and man of God did not deserve this....he is full of nothing but LOVE.

This GoFundMe has been started for my father, John Tsesmelis. When this happened to my father, it could not have come at a worst time. He was without health insurance. He had his house listed to sell that his father, age 90, lives in.

Being by my fathers side on the CCU (ICU) floor in Midland, TX since the assault on May 4th I have seen it all. The weakness, the struggle, the fight, the spirit, the will power, the change, God's hand in this. My daughter, sister, mother and myself reside in the Phoenix area and are wanting to have him in AZ with us. To have the best healthcare, health insurance and be surrounded by his loved ones during his recovery.

********Update 6/19/19*********

We have relocated my father to AZ by AeroCare, a private life flight company. They had been wonderful enough to step in and provide the medical transportation needed for my father's travel. The cost had been covered by a private donor/supporter. My father now has health insurance, and will be in one of Phoenix's top Spinal Cord Rehabilitation Centers.

My father's plan were to move his father, my Granddad, to Midland after the house sold. After 2 years of waiting my father now has an offer on his home! Beings that he is unable to care for his father, physically assist with the move, and provide financially for him... We are asking for funds to help go toward getting Granddad situated. Whatever the cost may be.

I would like to be sure that my Granddad will be able to visit his son during his recovery. We will need funds for this to happen.  After all family is important in recovery!

After rehabilitation, other expenses may also be needed for housing (placement), wheelchair, wheelchair accessible vehicle , modifications to the home, etc.

Cost will add up.....this is simply a start.
